Event History
The West Virginia Book Festival is an annual event since 2001 that is free and open to the public. The one day event features programs by local and international bestselling authors, a Used Book Sale, a Children's Play Area, and a Festival Marketplace. The event has on average 3000 people attend each year. The West Virginia Book Festival is sponsored by various organization in the community including Kanawha County Public Library, Kanawha County Public Library Foundation, West Virginia Humanities Council, West Virginia Public Broadcasting, West Virginia Library Commission, and the Charleston Gazette Mail.
